Motherhood advices with Marissa Anastasi: It’s crazy. It’s beautiful. And everyone is going to give you their two cents worth. See yourself through your children’s eyes and don’t be so hard on yourself. You are their world and they love and adore you. You’re doing a great job! Shower every day even if you don’t feel up to it. Not sure how, but some days it feels like it has healing powers. It’s amazing how something so simple can impact your wellbeing.

Trust Yourself. “Everyone you know will have advice and opinions about how you are raising your baby… However, you are the only real expert on your baby and what he or she may need,” says Crowley. “So when you are feeling like you want to ask an expert about something, first get quiet and in touch with your own sense of what might be going on with your little one and how you could best meet that need,” she advises. Take a Lot of Pictures. “You will never regret having too many pictures of your kids,” according to Kelly and Perren. “As your baby grows, you’ll stumble upon pictures of them (and you) and they will make your day. We’ve found that looking back on them as babies also helps to put your child’s age and stage into perspective when you are going through some rough patches. These pictures will become your most valued possessions,” they note.

Talk to them as if they are intelligent individuals. Talk to your children as if they are intelligent individuals. Don’t talk down to them. Ask their opinion on things. “Should we take Fido on our vacation with us or do you think he would be happier staying with grandma?” Make major purchases such as cars, homes and major appliances family decisions instead of just adult decisions. Encourage your children to offer input regarding family situations and ASK their opinion. When they give it to you, even if it sounds juvenile to you, don’t discount it, seriously consider it, ask questions and find the value in it. It is their opinion and input, there is always value in it. Find extra details on Motherhood blog.

Connection in my parenting journey, and especially in my relationship, because we have someone that we made together that we both love so much. The connection with this little person who shows up every day with their heart on their sleeve is the most profound love. Having a whole new perspective on life. The little things don’t seem to matter so much any more. I am responsible for another human being and that is more important than any issues at work or car troubles.

Hey, my name is Marissa and I’m a mummy to 4. I’m 34 years old and live in the sunny Mediterranean island, Cyprus. Larnaca to be precise!. You can read more about me and a brief description of my journey so far on my introduction blog. 2020 is when I officially started blogging. I remember up until I met my husband at 16, I always used to write a daily diary of my day, my feelings and just whatever came to mind. Starting to write again is nice but at the same time, a little out my comfort zone knowing that people might read it! Since moving to Cyprus, I have pushed myself and have been given the confidence by my family into things I have never tried before but always wanted to do. Thanks for joining me on my journey and I hope you enjoy the blogs. Explore additional details at www.marissaanastasi.com.
